Campbell, CA – January 06, 2006 -- InterNiche Technologies, the specialist provider of software and expertise for device networking, today announced enhanced support for Freescale's ColdFire® microcontrollers with a prepackaged port of NicheStack TCP/IP for the ColdFire M5208EVB evaluation board. Using InterNiche's profiling technology, the product measures and presents the percentage of CPU cycles required to process each layer of TCP/IP and application software, allowing the developer to determine available microcontroller head room. The port includes FTP, Telnet and an HTTP Sever running on NicheStack and an operating system from FreeRTOS.com. All InterNiche software modules either connect to the IP layer or sockets, which means no additional porting is necessary to add management, security, or routing modules. The addition of this port extends InterNiche coverage for ColdFire devices to the MCF52xx and MCF54xx, families of embedded controllers. InterNiche also includes CryptoEngine™ software to take advantage of hardware acceleration in the encryption HA engine in the MCF523x and MCF527x families and the integrated security engine in the MCF547x and MCF548x for the NicheStack IPv4 and IPv6 protocol products.
