InterNiche Network Integration Kit for Coldfire 5208EVB
This is the ReadMe file detailing how to download a binary demo of the Interniche NicheStack TCP/IP Stack, Telnet Server, HTTP Server, HTML DEMO and FTP Server on the Motorola M5208EVB ColdFire Evaluation Board using Freescale's CodeWarrior Development Studio for ColdFire, version 6.1.
As per the Freescale M5208EVB Getting Started guide, the board needs to be connected to the PC running the CodeWarrior toolset via the P&E Micro BDM interface cable. A serial cable needs to be connected between the Terminal Port (UART0) and an unused COM port on the PC. The terminal emulator on the PC (such as Hyper- Terminal) should configure the COM port for 115200 baud, no parity, 1 stop bit, and no flow control.
- Copy the entire Demo directory tree onto your Local Hard Disk before you evaluate the demo. This is necessary since the Freescale CodeWarrior IDE will create some temporary files and directories on you Local Hard Disk inside this Demo directory.
- In the Demo directory, you will find a CodeWarrior Project file called mcf5208.mcp. Double click on this file to open the project.
- Click on the RUN button (or enter Ctrl + F5, or in the pull down menu select "Project" -> "Run") to start downloading the code. This downloads the code and starts executing the demo. The user should see the INET> prompt on the Terminal emulator window.
- The Demo would have started executing by now and you will see NO further messages on the debugger console window.
Notes about this precompiled demonstration binary
- IP Address of the station is configured to 10.0.0.104.

The subnet mask is configured to 255.0.0.0 and the gateway
to 0.0.0.0.
So if you have another PC on the network that is configured with a similar subnet mask and with a 10.0.0.X IP Address, you should be able to:- Browse the webserver at http://10.0.0.104 For Authenticated webpages enter the username "guest" and password "guest".
- Telnet into the Telnet server with username "guest" and password "guest".
- FTP into the FTP Server with username "guest" and password "guest". The Demo includes a file system which contains a two megabyte file and a null device, "/mem2M" and "/null" respectively, the can be used to evaluate data transfer performance.
- To view the Dynamic Operation of NicheStack and the various Applications using the HTML Demo and Profiler at http://10.0.0.104, select the "Network Data" link and "CPU Profile" submenu button.
- Execute any of the Webport commands from the INET> prompt through the serial port. Type 'help' for a list of available commands.
IMPORTANT: Please note that this executable is a time limited demo and will shut itself off after 1 hr.

Trouble Shooting

If you are unable to access the demo, please check the following:
- That the entire Demo directory has been copied over to your Hard Disk, and that the mcf5208.mcp Project file that you are executing is the one on your Hard Disk.
- That the ethernet and serial cable connections to your PC are fine.
- Please make sure that your PC configuration is as follows:
IP Address : 10.0.0.x Subnet Mask: 255.0.0.0 Gateway : 0.0.0.0 Serial port: 115200 baud, no parity, 1 stop, no flow control
- That all Jumpers and DIP Switches are in their default positions.
- There is no other device on the network with an IP address of 10.0.0.104.
